Katharine Mullen holds a doctorate in physics from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and an undergraduate degree in computer science from Bard College. She was a postdoctoral researcher and then a staff physicist at the National Institute of Standards and Technology. She is currently Adjunct Assistant Professor of Statistics and Data Science at the University of California, Los Angeles. She is an executive officer of the Foundation for Open Access Statistics and publisher of the Journal of Statistical Software. Her interests include scientific computing and the history and philosophy of physics.
